Community Health and Counseling Services
Community Health and Counseling Services is a non-profit organization that was established in 1883. We offer behavioral health, crisis, home health and hospice services for chidlren & adults through Maine communities.
One of the few combined home health and behavioral health care agencies in the United States, Community Health and Counseling Services combines mutually supportive programs and collaborative relationships with other health care providers to serve both the physical and psychological aspects of an individual’s well-being.
These services are offered in homes, schools, and the area offices of CHCS in central, eastern and northern Maine. The size of the CHCS service area in Maine covers over 22,000 square miles. That’s the combined size of New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.
Through a continuum of care and support, Community Health and Counseling Services touches the lives of thousands of people each year, providing needed services to people and their families in their community in a cost-effective way.
CHCS offers a generous benefit package to both full and eligible part-time employees. Full-time employees receive individual medical insurance at no cost & 64% of family premium provided, dental, life & long-term disability insurance, reimbursement accounts, agency retirement plan at no cost, 2 - 4 weeks vacation, 12 sick days, and 12 full and 2 half day holidays. Part-time employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, life insurance, reimbursement accounts, agency retirement plan, vacation, sick and holidays on a pro-rated basis.
