Maine Municipal Association
Founded in 1937, MMA is one of 49 similar state municipal leagues that are recognized at all governmental levels for providing an array of professional services municipalities and other local governmental entities in Maine. MMA also is notable for its advocating for collective municipal interests.
MMA is a non-profit, non-partisan organization governed by an Executive Committee elected from its member municipalities. MMA’s membership consists of municipal governments and associate members.
MMA is committed to providing members with excellent service within core service programs: Advocacy, Legal Advisory Services, Personnel Services/Labor Relations, Web Site and Local Government Resource Center, Affiliate groups, Training and Publications, Annual Convention, Maine Municipal Employees Health Trust, and Risk Management Services.
We serve thousands of elected and appointed municipal officials, volunteer municipal board and committee members, municipal employees, affiliate groups (e.g. Maine Town and City Clerks Association), and representatives of numerous other MMA associate members.
