Central Maine Medical Family

Central Maine Medical Center is located in Lewiston, a geographic and economic hub for central and western Maine.

Central Maine Medical Center (CMMC), a 250-bed not-for-profit hospital located in downtown Lewiston, is a tertiary healthcare center and serves as a regional referral center for patients and healthcare providers in Androscoggin, Oxford and Franklin counties and surrounding areas. CMMC specialties include cardiac care (CMHVI), trauma and emergency care, comprehensive cancer care, physical rehabilitation, and orthopedic surgery. Women's and children's services include neonatal intermediate care for sick or premature infants, the Sam and Jennie Bennett Breast Care Center, and the Osteoporosis Center. As part of its trauma-emergency services mission, CMH collaborated with Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor to create LifeFlight of Maine, a medical helicopter service. Central Maine Imaging Center is a CMH affiliate that offers magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), x-ray, mammography and ultrasound services at 287 Main Street Plaza in Lewiston.

CMMC also supports a number of primary care and specialty care practices for patients of all ages. The Medical Center's inpatient nursing units deliver outstanding care.

The mission of the Central Maine Heart & Vascular Institute is to develop a comprehensive, integrated program providing cardiovascular services from prevention and screening to treatment and rehabilitation that are high quality, efficient, and patient/family-focused.

Located in the heart of the Lakes Region of Maine, Bridgton Hospital is conveniently located off Route 302 on South High Street. Forty-five miles west of Portland, Bridgton Hospital serves 21 towns in the Lakes Region and Western Mountains of Maine as well as the Mount Washington Valley of New Hampshire. Bridgton Hospital is a proud member of the Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, family of hospitals.

The 21-bed, single-story, hospital was founded in 1917. The new Bridgton Hospital building opened its doors in January 2002. It features all private patient rooms, including medical/surgical, intensive care, and family birthing suites. Our surgical services department provides inpatient and outpatient surgery. We have a full service laboratory for inpatients and outpatients, and our radiology department offers a broad array of diagnostics including mammography, ultrasound, CAT scan, and MRI. The outpatient clinic, located in its own wing of the hospital, offers a wide array of healthcare professionals including oncology/hemotology, podiatry, diabetes education, cardiology, neurology, podiatry, pulmonology, and our new wound center. Our emergency department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Rumford Hospital is a critical access hospital, providing comprehensive primary care and sophisticated diagnostic services, including CT scanning, ultrasound and nuclear medicine. The hospital offers medical surgical nursing services, a birthing center, women's health services and ambulatory surgery. Our Swing Bed program provides care for patients who need skilled nursing services. RH also maintains a 24-hour emergency department and staffs an Intensive Care Unit.



Through its affiliation with Central Maine Medical Center, RH offers specialty clinics with doctors who specialize in orthopedics, oncology, pulmonology, cardiology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, neurology, and nephrology. RH also offers an array of education and wellness and prevention services, including LifeStrides, a cardiac rehabilitation program. With the latest diagnostic equipment, a multi-site primary care group practice, and clinical ties to CMMC, Rumford Hospital provides River Valley residents with local access to a wide array of healthcare services.
