About
Kennebec Valley Community Action Program

About the Company

Since 1965, KVCAP has been offering a variety of social services promoting the self-sufficiency of people in need throughout the communities of Kennebec and Somerset counties.

KVCAP's mission is to support individual solutions to build stronger communities. We improve the lives of people through education, prevention and advocacy efforts. We seek collaborative partnerships in the community to identify needs, coordinate resources, and creatively invest funding dollars to make the greatest, positive impact on the lives of the low-income families we serve.

Under the 39-year leadership of Executive Director Raymond F. Richard, the organization, piloted by an all-volunteer Board of Directors, has become a leader in providing a number of social service programs for Maine residents living in the Kennebec Valley. These programs include: Transportation, Affordable Housing, Child Care & Head Start, Home Energy Assistance, Counseling, and Education programs.
