About
KidsPeace New England

KidsPeace is a private, not-for-profit charity dedicated to serving the critical behavioral and mental health needs of children, preadolescents, and teens. Since 1882, KidsPeace has been helping kids develop the confidence and skills they need to overcome crisis

The KidsPeace New England Graham Lake facility provides intensified, 24-hour, clinical, educational, and therapeutic recreational care for adolescents with psychiatric, emotional and/or behavioral issues within its Residential Treatment Program. This program serves males and females ages 10 to 17. The Diagnostic Assessment Program is a 45 day program that provides prognosis and stabilization for those children for whom a course of treatment is unclear. The goals of the placement are to resolve presenting problems relating to stability, to complete a diagnostic evaluation for understanding the child, and to develop specific recommendations for treatment and services.

Every child on the Graham Lake campus attends a fully accredited, private, approved special education school. The primary goal of the school is to help students learn the necessary skills to return to and participate in the mainstream of community and emotional life.

KidsPeace New England Community Services has five locations throughout the state of Maine: South Portland, York, Lewiston, Augusta, and Orono. Our Community Services Supported Families Program is designed to treat children in their own families and/or provide intensive support for families with a child or children at risk of out-of –home placement. A treatment team helps the biological or substitute family of the special needs child develop the skills necessary to maintain the child at home.

Our Foster Care Services offers highly trained foster parents intensive in-home support to provide effective and individualized treatment for children who have significant and/or complex treatment requirements.

KidsPeace is committed to helping kids find peace and growth. We invite those individuals who share in the mission of KidsPeace to join our team and help make a difference in a child’s life. KidsPeace offers extensive training opportunities, competitive salaries and an extensive benefits package. Please contact us to learn more of the career opportunities within our organization throughout the state of Maine.
